PRAISE!

Here are a few nice things people have said about him (he is blushing):

"It's hard to know where to start when recommending Zac. He's, quite frankly, brilliant. We first worked together as reporters for the Downtowner, a weekly newsmagazine. He never missed a deadline and demonstrated his keen ability to always sniff out and tell a compelling story. Several years later, after he built a powerful platform as an expert editor for Writer's Digest, we joined teams once again with each of us serving at the helm of the prestigious design magazines, HOW and Print. I watched Zac flourish as he brought his vision for each issue of Print to life. His talents don't stop on the printed page, as he's put his enthusiasm to work for all extensions of the brand, ranging from its website and events to its promotional campaigns. Zac has an admirable ability to bring a brand to life in new ways and galvanize a team with his creative vision."

"Every editor or publisher overseeing a publication hopes to have someone on his or her staff who can be trusted to make sound editorial decisions under the gun, to connect with the readership on a level that never stops striving to exceed expectations, and to represent the brand well both in and out of the office. In our years together at Writer's Digest, Zac was that key player on our team. Zac is someone who never shies away from doing whatever it takes to get the job done and done well, whether that means extra effort or extra hours—and he does it all with good judgment and good humor. In addition to his integral role in our day-to-day workflow, he also shepherded the publication through my maternity leave, approaching his role of Interim Editor with strong, organized, thoughtful leadership that made it easy for me to step back into my role twelve weeks later. Our contributors always had wonderful things to say about Zac, whether they'd worked with him on their articles via email or presented alongside him at a conference. And Zac himself is a talented writer who can be trusted to wow with his bylines, whether the assignment is a feature-length cover story or a clever front-of-the-book bit. Zac has my highest recommendation. Any publication or client would hit the jackpot to have him."

“Zachary presented the keynote address and an additional session at Write Now! 2013 in Raleigh, NC and was, by far, the most popular speaker at the event. His presentations inspired every writer in attendance, in addition to giving them knowledgeable, hands-on advice that will make them better, more professional writers. The hosting organization, Triangle Area Freelancers, was extremely pleased with Zachary’s participation and would love to have him back.”
Donald Vaughan, Triangle Area Freelancers, freelance writer/editor/photographer

“Writers at the 2018 Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop found Zac to be knowledgeable, personable, entertaining, organized, approachable, engaging—and empowering. As one writer noted, 'I learned so much from Zac, there is now a bounce in my step.'”
—Teri Rizvi, founder and director, Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop

“As an advanced, agented writer, I’ve received many critiques of my work by award-winning, renowned authors and editors. Zachary Petit’s crit was one of the best I’ve ever encountered–thorough, insightful, comprehensive and engaging. His words resonated within my own muse–and inspired me to write a new book!”
Yael Levy, winner of bestseller Brenda Novak’s critique with Zac, which was auctioned in 2011 to benefit diabetes research

“It was a pleasure to have Zac Petit participate in the 2011 NPC Writers’ Conference as both a speaker and a panelist. He brought expert knowledge of freelance markets and the querying process to our conference with concrete examples, entertaining anecdotes, and a friendly style that helped the audience interact during his presentations. I highly recommend Mr. Petit for speaking engagements where chairpersons need a high-energy, personable, expert speaker.”
Sandy Lender, Writers’ Conference Chair, Naples Press Club (via LinkedIn)

“I had the good fortune to hire Zachary during my tenure as editor of Writer’s Digest magazine. He’s a talented writer and scrupulous editor. Zac took on every project I threw his way with great enthusiasm and dedication. He’s a real team-player and any editor or manager would be lucky to have him on staff.”
Maria Schneider, former editor-in-chief, Writer’s Digest (via LinkedIn)

“Zac was a top-notch, goal-oriented, driven reporter that dug the truth and for the inside story no matter what the subject. He had a love for the arts and it showed. He has a tremendous skill and gift in writing.”
